Pictured in our Christmas card this year is our very own KING AND QUEEN Camdenites, Ben Sheldrick and Louise Geddes, who were picked from a range of nominees as those who most aptly represented Camden Town.

The winners’ first royal engagement was to appear in a festive photo shoot for Camden’s 2011 Christmas greeting card, which is being distributed to thousands of businesses and residents of the borough this festive season.  The pair enjoyed dressing up in their regalia on the infamous Inverness Street in Camden Town.

Ben, 24, lead singer of BelaKiss, has lived and worked in Camden all his life whilst  Louise has been managing the popular ‘Camden Bar and Kitchen’ restaurant for the past eight years.   Both were chosen for their sense of community and passion for the area.

Ben commented “I’m honoured to be given this award as Camden is a massive part of who I am. The photo shoot was so much fun with Louise and me prancing around in our crowns and robes. My next appointment as king will be to give the people of Camden a right royal knees-up”

Simon Pitkeathley, Chief Executive of Camden Town Unlimited, said “We came up with this initiative as a way of engaging the local community and showing off all that Camden has to offer. Camden represents diversity, creativity and vibrancy. People from all across the globe come to Camden to enjoy its unique offerings. We feel that Ben and Louise are deserving winners, representing everything Camden.”

The winners were announced at the King of Camden Awards on 8th December, an event which offers recognition for the best businesses in the area.
