Car Free Day in Camden Town
24th July 2010
To celebrate car free day and the success of High Street North and ‘The Naked High Street’, Camden Council, working in partnership with CTU, are considering a Car Free Day in Camden Town.
Provisionally taking place on Sunday 19th September 2010, Car Free Day would see Camden High Street closed to traffic from Camden Tube to Chalk Farm Road. Focusing on sustainable travel (to tie in with European mobility week) we are proposing to transform the High Street with on street (health related) activities, music, marquees and even rollapaluza cycle racing! The event would also highlight the benefits of shopping locally, and the fantastic range of amenities that Camden Town has to offer.
If car free day Camden High St goes ahead, there would be opportunities for local businesses to get involved with the on street activities. If this is something you would be interested in, please register your interest by emailing rozanne@camdentownunlimited.com
