Get ahead of the Games
There’s loads of information about the Olympics out there but we think this is a best single resource for businesses. Transport for London (TfL) launched a new site this week to help everyone plan ahead for travel during the Games. By visiting the website or following @GAOTG on twitter, you can receive tips, travel information and advice on how to avoid the travel hot spots. Don’t leave it too late and remember the Olympics is also a business opportunity for many!
Every day will be different for travel during the Games - keep informed by visiting the Get ahead of the Games website.
Olympics: six months to go, start planning now with our business factsheet.
This is the Council’s version, which is also very useful.
The Olympics are only six months away. Now is the time to prepare your business to benefit from the opportunities presented by the Games and plan for possible disruption for your employees, customers and suppliers.
Attached is the Council’s comprehensive 2012 business factsheet with all the information you need to prepare your business for the Games.
The factsheet includes advice around various channels for promoting your business, volunteering opportunities for you and your staff and local events and activities during the games as well as where to find the latest information around travel and emergency planning.
The fact sheet is also available to download from the Olympics pages on our website where we will post updated information, advice and guidance as it becomes available.

TfL Workshop Events
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will impact the public transport and road network in certain places at certain times during the Games. For businesses, this is a huge opportunity - and a major challenge. The Games is likely to impact staff, deliveries and customers.
The Games are fast approaching, with the Olympic Games take place between 27 July and 12 August and the Paralympic Games from 29 August to 9 September.
To help businesses prepare, a series of workshops and drop in sessions are available to support businesses across London and these are being organised by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) and Transport for London (TfL)
The workshops will provide you with an overview of the transport impacts in your area and also an opportunity to discuss potential solutions to the challenges. The next workshops in the King’s Cross/Euston area are on 22 February and 18 April and will last approximately 2 hours. There are two session on each of those dates. Please email keeponrunning@london2012.com to register. Venue details will be sent out to those who reserve a place. Places are filling up quickly but if there is enough demand, ODA and TfL will look to run more of these events.
Drop-in sessions are also available. These will be more informal events where you will have an opportunity to speak on a one-one basis with a team of TfL experts on Games-time transport and how it might effect your organisation. The next drop in session in this area will be held on 1 March between 10am and 4pm at 344-354 Grays Inn Road, London, WC1X 8BP. You do not have to pre-book to attend a drop-in session. There will be another drop-in session on 26 April at the same venue and time.
