Vision
Positioning Camden Town a global centre for Creative Industries
Camden Town has a clear Vision for Camden Town. We want to establish Camden Town, and the nearby developments at Kings Cross and Euston, as the heart of London's creative community and an international destination for arts, design, fashion, music and media.
Camden Town is one of the most exciting districts in London. With a strong and vibrant business community and significant opportunities emerging as Kings Cross, Euston and potentially the CRT (Cross River Tram) deliver major transportation projects within walking distance, Camden Town is poised to become one of the fastest growing commercial districts in Europe.
In order to deliver the potential benefits of these developments to our member businesses, we have identified 5 aims:
• Strengthen links to Euston and Kings Cross
• Establish Camden Town as the creative capital in London
• Improve the media perception of Camden Town
• Increase political commitment to delivering change in Camden Town
• Achieve Re-election as a BID to continue our work programme
The Camden Creative Quarter
The Camden Creative Quarter seeks to recognise, promote and exploit the proximity of the three major business centres - Camden Town, Kings Cross and Euston - to develop a single coherent business identity. In particular, there is significant potential to grow the well-established design and media cluster in Camden Town into a new central London design hub encompassing Camden Town, Euston and Kings Cross.
The recent re-opening of the Eurostar station at Kings Cross and the surrounding development site at Kings Cross and Euston are re-defining London's commercial geography. This business cluster is one of a number of major new developments around the centre including Stratford, White City, Elephant & Castle, providing high quality specialist business space for international investors. The strength of the transport connections in these new sites, with the new Eurostar as the centrepiece, makes them a very attractive location.
Through its programme of projects CTU intends to position Camden Town as an international destination for the Creative Industries, and in turn improve the area as a place for all businesses to thrive.
